Founded in 1983, ‘Lockie Computing’ was developed by Carreen Lockie and Harvey Lockie. The aim was to provide reliable and easy-to-use pharmacy dispensing software for the Pharmacy market. The company rapidly expanded and developed major export markets that included Australia, the UK and New Zealand. A complete re-write of the initial system was done during the 1990s to become the fully integrated Dispensary/PoS/Head Office Windows package known as ‘L.O.T.S’ (Lockie’s Total System). Later the Australian business was sold, however after many approaches to return the system became known as PharmacyPro in 2002.
PharmacyPro is accepted as leading edge by commentators and retailers. With an integrated database for all customer, stock and debtor information efficiency and reporting is maximised. Superior stock management algorithms using PharmacyPro result in lower dead stock levels, better buying decisions and improved net profit.
Current business partners with the Lockies include Margie Peat and Antony Wentworth. As of 2011 there are around 3000 pharmacies worldwide using products derived from the company’s software.
